Based in Maui or Oahu, this is a unique opportunity to lead maintenance for one of Hawaii’s most recognized helicopter operations. Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has been providing aerial experiences in Hawaii for more than 40 years, taking guests above some of the islands’ most extraordinary landscapes, from volcanic terrain and rainforests to waterfalls, valleys, and remote coastlines. Behind every flight is a maintenance organization committed to ensuring each aircraft is safe, airworthy, and ready to deliver an exceptional experience.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Maintenance will play a critical leadership role in that mission, serving as the Responsible Manager for the Part 135 air carrier and Accountable Manager for the Part 145 repair station.
This leader will have overall responsibility for the maintenance and continued airworthiness of company-operated aircraft, while providing oversight and direction for maintenance facilities, programs, processes, and team members. The Director will champion a strong culture of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, ensuring maintenance practices support both the safety of our operation and the reliability of our fleet.
The ideal leader brings broad aviation maintenance expertise and a strong understanding of 14 CFR Parts 43, 135, and 145, along with the ability to lead teams, strengthen maintenance programs, and partner across the operation.
This is more than a traditional Director of Maintenance position. It is an opportunity to lead a critical function supporting an operation that gives guests a perspective of Hawaii few experiences can offer, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and airworthiness remain at the center of every flight.
Because of the breadth of the operation, responsibilities may span multiple functional areas and evolve based on the needs of the business.
